Pre Care

Pregnant and nursing women are not good candidates for permanent makeup procedures, the reason being that the hormone levels change and spike. This affects healing and can alter color results. Furthermore, there are no studies regarding pregnant or nursing women and the effects permanent cosmetics can have on the baby, which means insurance will not cover any adverse outcomes.

Prior to your appointment, please notify Lindzee Kennedy if you are on any kind of blood thinner, acne medications (oral or topical), or Retin-A, or if you have had any kind of injections, peels, or anti-aging/ acne facials. If you take any kind of vitamin E or fish oils, please stop at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment, as these are natural blood thinners.

Absolutely no drugs or alcohol in the 24 hours before your appointment. These will thin the blood and affect the healed result.

If there is anything else you think Lindzee Kennedy might need to know, medically or otherwise, to help you get the best result out of your new permanent makeup, please notify her in advance.

Post Care

Following your appointment with esthetician Lindzee Kennedy, you will need to take certain steps to ensure proper healing and long-lasting results. Through simple measures, you can more rapidly restore a normal appearance to the treated area and protect your new, stunning look.

Prior to scheduling your appointment at iObsession, please make a trip to your local supermarket or grocery store for the following items:

  • Coconut oil to heal your brows and liner. This oil will be used daily, multiple times a day, to keep the results from drying out and scabbing. You can find coconut oil at your local grocery store with all other oils.
  • Antibacterial soap to wash the treated area 4 hours after your appointment and remove the lymph that causes scabbing. Gently wash eyeliner and powdered brows daily. If you received microblading, you should only use water the first day. Avoid allowing the shower to run on your new tattoos as well.
  • Cotton rounds and bottled water to dab the brow area every hour on the first day. This is to dab off the lymph that causes scabbing.

Like traditional skin tattoos, your cosmetic tattoos need to remain wet until they heal and the skin returns to normal. Powder brows, eyeliner, and lips typically require a week, while microblading requires two weeks. You can continue to use coconut oil beyond this point, as it is very good for your skin. Keep in mind that dry skin usually needs more oil, while oily skin requires less.
